WELCOME TO JOHNSONVILLE CHILDCARE, in the heart of Johnsonville, Wellington.
Johnsonville Childcare provide high quality child care and education for children from 6 months to five years old at an affordable price. We offer full day care in a safe and nurturing environment for pre-school children, with learning lead by the strengths and interest of the individual child.
A purpose built centre in the heart of Johnsonville, close to Newlands, Woodridge, Paparangi, Ohariu Valley, Onslow, Khandallah, Ngaio, Glenside, Churton Park and Tawa, and just 10 minutes from Wellington City.
Our opening hours are 7.30 am to 6.00 pm. We are closed weekends and public holidays.
The centre has worked hard at achieving a gold healthy heart award through the Heart Foundation.
The centre is working really hard on sustainable practice. We have teamed up with Paper 4 Trees where we log our recycling and are rewarded with trees and plants for the children to plant and care for and we are excited to be enrolling in the Enviroschool programme where we will work together to build a life long sustainable community.
Wendy the Waste Educator from Wellington City Council was invited to visit us and help us to get the worm farm up and running again.
“I was very impressed with the childcare centre and the beautiful surroundings for the children who attend there. The knowledge and help from the educators was excellent, which was also shown through the engagement and knowledge of the children. The centre had many sustainability features such as recycling, composting, up-cycling, gorgeous gardens and swan plants for the monarch butterflies, which was visibly obvious for everyone to see and share. We repaired the worm farm, using some of the five R’s from the waste hierarchy of Refuse, reduce, reuse, repair and then recycle.”
Our building meets 100% earthquake code and have a well stocked civil defence kit.
We use Educa which is a web-based portfolio of a child's growth and development at an early childhood centre. It allows parents and early childhood teachers to share a child's journey and gain valuable feedback. Educa is specifically designed for early childhood education centres, teachers and parents.
